Lauren Karalis, Esq.

Lauren is a determined litigator with years of litigation and special education law experience. As a mother of two young children of her own, she is passionate about advocating for children's rights while supporting and empowering parents throughout the process.

Lauren attended St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where she earned a B.A., summa cum laude, in Psychology. Lauren went on to attend Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University where she was a member of the Labor and Employment Journal and Moot Court Board. Following graduation from law school, cum laude, Lauren joined a leading plaintiff's class action law firm as a full-time associate, litigating consumer and securities class actions, as well as a special education class action on behalf of children with Autism against the New York City Department of Education.

Thereafter, Lauren joined a major global financial services firm, where she supported the company's hedge fund and private equity businesses before transitioning her practice to special educational law full time. Lauren joined a leading special education law firm in New York City where she represented Parents in impartial hearings against the New York City Department of Education for several years prior to founding The Law Office of Lauren Karalis, PLLC.

Lauren is a member of the New York State bar and admitted to practice law in the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York.
